"I don't wish for it to dictate my existence. I do not want to be merely known as a disability expert. It doesn't impact my day-to-day routine. I continue to do my normal activities and have adapted to my disabilities. In addition, I see that it is a crucial part of myself. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay striving to be self-accepting. However, she acknowledges going through phases of her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear particular types of clothes that showed off her arms. Nowadays, she dresses anything she likes and uploads photos in those outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not an end goal. This is true for everyone regardless of their level of insecurity. It's essential to surround yourself with people who can discern and understand your heart.
