Her birth was during the time that her father was working for the U.S. Military in Italy. At the beginning of 1990, she started acting and dancing professionally with Colorado's Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. Later, she was able to join an area theatre in Minnesota in which she was cast as a character in a film mock documentary about beauty pageants Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). When she moved to Los Angeles, she pursued an acting career following her film debut where she played a dizzy, but charming contestant. The couple also had children Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was picked up by actress Norma Shearer and agreed to sign a contract for MGM during the 1940s. Through the years, Leigh appeared in a number of well-known films, such as Alfred Hitchcock Psycho (1960) or Living It Up (a Martin Lewis film released in 1954).
